Senior reunites with alma mater, UT band

The Cottage, the memory care neighborhood at Alexis Pointe Senior Living, recently celebrated what they call a “Miracle Moment” — one that brought joy and nostalgia to resident Tom Jenkins, a University of Texas Alumni.

Alexis Pointe, a senior living facility in Wimberley, orchestrated a heartwarming reunion for Jenkins during the University of Texas versus Texas Tech game. Jenkins, who had worked closely with the UT Band in the past, was treated to a special occasion that rekindled his deep connection with his Alma Mater. The UT Band played a pivotal role in making this celebration truly special, helping him feel connected to the institution he holds dear.

With the UT Band by his side, Jenkins once again experienced the exhilaration of leading the parade into the stadium as he had done years before. Reconnecting with old friends and sharing laughs with Bevo, the University of Texas mascot, Jenkins savored every moment of being with the band during the game. His sentiments echoed the sentiment of 'the good old days.'

The Cottage of Alexis Pointe extended its heartfelt thanks to the University of Texas Band and Athletics Department for their instrumental role in organizing this special event. Their efforts went beyond bringing back memories; they made Jenkins feel as if he never left his beloved school.

'This is like the good old days,' shared Jenkins as he enjoyed the festivities and electric atmosphere of the game. Pulling into the stadium, he expressed his deep appreciation, saying, 'This institution has always been good to me.'

With a focus on creating vibrant and engaging experiences, Alexis Pointe of Wimberley is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and celebrating the unique stories of each resident.
