New Fire Station 74 almost complete

Construction is nearing completion for North Hays County Fire Rescue Station #74. The station, located at the intersection of Belterra Drive and Sawyer Ranch Road, will house both firefighters and EMS crews. Construction began last fall and was originally planned to be complete in May.
“We continue to experience materials delays resulting from COVID-19 and the winter storm,” North Hays County Fire Rescue Chief Scott Collard said last month.
The new station was designed with the future growth of the area in mind and will be capable of housing numerous units and personnel including the department's ladder truck. A grand opening ceremony has been scheduled for June 26 at 10 a.m. The community is invited, including children.
