Mayor, council members sworn in for another term

Mayor Bill Foulds, Jr. will see a second term in office, after a rather uncompetitive city election season.

Foulds was first elected in 2020, after serving as mayor pro tempore for eight years. That year, all candidates for the city election were unopposed, so the city did not hold a municipal election, and the uncontested candidates were declared winners. This included Foulds as mayor; incumbent Wade King as Council Member, Place 2; and newcomer April Harris Allison as Council Member, Place 4.

Foulds and King ran unopposed for re-election this year, and again, the city did not hold a municipal election.

Meanwhile, Allison did not return for a second term and was replaced by Travis Crow, a former council member for Place 5. He was also unopposed.
