DSHS one-act play wins district

The Dripping Springs High School Theater took home the gold this past week, winning the District 26-5A One-Act Play competition.

DSHS actors competed at Veterans Memorial High School in San Antonio on Saturday, March 5 with a production of “Describe The Night.” Individually, AJ Bergeron won Best Actor, Hannah Olsen was named to the Honor Cast and Ben Muscanere was selected to the All-Star Cast. Audrey Lorenz was also named Best Technician.

The UIL One-Act Play contest is a competition where similarly sized Texas schools present an 18– 40 minute play, adjudicated by a panel of three judges or a single judge. At most levels of competition, a judge awards individual acting awards and selects three productions to advance to the next level of competition. At the regional level, only two productions will advance to state.

The bi-district competition will be held March 23 at Davenport High School in San Antonio.
