DSHS Class of 2018 Graduation: Hats fly high

TRADITION CONTINUES

The 2018 Dripping Springs High School (DSHS) Class partakes in the traditional tossing the caps on June 8. This is the second class to hold its graduation ceremony at the new Tiger Stadium, and believed to be the 106th class to be graduated from DSHS. “I think the high school was reinstated in 1912,” local historian and Century News Sports Writer Carl Waits said. “We had a high school in the 1800s but it went away because supposedly people didn’t want to go to school that long. The farthest back known graduate that I know of is from 1917, and that’s W.A. Lyle, but we may have been graduating people as early as 1912.” Waits wrote “The Complete History of Dripping Springs, Texas.” PHOTO BY DAVE WILSON
