Drive a Senior comes to Dripping
Drive a Senior Central Texas announced that it will begin a weekly van ride service in Dripping Springs on Wednesdays this summer, with additional plans to include its signature curb-to-curb ride assistance in the future.
Drive a Senior Central Texas enriches lives and communities by providing transportation and socialization to non-driving seniors, at no cost, helping them to achieve healthy and active aging in place. Drive a Senior Central Texas is one of the only agencies that is solely focused on providing free curb-to-curb transportation services and van rides to non-driving seniors.
“We are excited to begin serving the senior community of Dripping Springs” said Mary Sue Clyne, Chairman of the Board. Mrs. Clyne added, “We have had a warm reception from the community thus far and will be providing a critically important service. We look forward to working with community and business leaders to create a legacy of quality transportation options for seniors in Dripping Springs.”
Drive a Senior Central Texas transportation services are provided with the following qualifications:
● 60+ years of age
● Live in an area we serve
● Independently mobile
● Live in their own home or with family members
● Not suffering from severe dementia
The first volunteer training for the Dripping Springs area will be held on May 18, 2019 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at the Dripping Springs Community Library meeting room, 501 Sportsplex Drive. Drive a Senior Central Texas is a local nonprofit that provides free rides to non-driving seniors over 60, who enroll in our program, to help them live independently as long as they can and desire.
