City Proclamation honors Lions Club
The Dripping Springs Lions Club was recognized with a City Proclamation at the December 11 City Council Meeting, by City Council Member Wade King. The proclamation recognized the organization’s “passionate dedication, service, and generous contributions to the community since 1978.”
The document read:
“This document honors Lions Club members as humanitarians, raising and donating over $45,000 to non-profit organizations this year, including: Vision Screening for Youth; the National School Nurses’ Association to provide glasses for Dripping Springs students in need; Tiger Totes; Red Arena; Tiger Readers; KAIROS; scholarships to Dripping Springs High School students; Schools Out Foods In; Hays County Livestock Show; the Burke Center for Youth; Dripping Springs Independent School District; Brown Santa; the Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead; and Austin Zoo.
“It also honors Lions as a key partner in the planning and implementation of the annual ‘Founders Day Festival,’ and ‘Christmas on Mercer St.,’ providing Dripping Springs with the Community Christmas Tree and over $10,000 in downtown holiday decorations.
“The City of Dripping Springs Proclamation calls upon all residents of Dripping Springs to express appreciation to the Lions Club for the impact it has made in the community.”
