City officially opens first skating rink in Dripping

The long-awaited ice skating rink at Dripping Springs Ranch Park and Event Center opened to the public last weekend as part of the city’s first-annual Western Wonderland.

The Western Wonderland grand opening on Dec. 8 kicked off the nearly month-long event, which is scheduled to run until Jan. 7, 2024. Other attractions this year include a holiday trail of lights and shopping from local vendors and artisans.

The event also includes what organizers refer to as “micro events,” including the “Gingerbread Cowboy Experience” on Dec. 14 and the “Grinch Experience” on Dec. 21. These themed micro events are primarily designed for children toddler-age and up.

Additional information on the ice rink, trail of lights and micro events can be found at drippingspringsranchpark. com/westernwonderland.
