City adopts proclamations dealing with first responders

City Council issued two proclamations dealing with first responders during their regular meeting on September 18-- “National Night Out,” and “National Preparedness Month.”

Hays County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Stephen A. Traeger accepted the city’s proclamation making Tuesday October 2, National Night Out for the city.

“National Night Out is a venue for neighborhoods to get together in a home or community center, proffer a sumptuous potluck, and invite Dripping Springs and Hays County law enforcement officers and emergency responders. This are the men and women who often save lies and risk their own to serve their hometown,” the press release said.

National Night Out is also billed as an opportunity for residents to ask questions firsthand from their constables, sheriff deputies, EMS paramedics and firemen, and garner knowledge about they can better serve residential neighborhoods.

“This is the 35th anniversary of “National Night Out,” in Hays County, which is now in 40 regular locations, 14 of which are in Dripping Springs,” Traeger said.

People wanting more information on National Night Out can contact Traeger at (512) 393-7373, or via email at mailto:[email protected] [email protected].
