Art Exhibit at Hays County Government Center

Artists from around the county will have their art displayed on the second floor of the Hays County Government Center in a display of local talent. Twelve pieces will be displayed and honored at the art installation to be held on Thursday August 23 at the center.

The Hays County Art Commission is hosting the event which is part of th4e Hays County Historical Commission, displays and rotates the art every four to six months.

It is extraordinarily satisfying to be at the Government Center on Court days and watch people stroll the halls looking at the art as though they are in the finest of art galleries,” Linda Coker of the Art Committee said. She continued.

One artist featured is Tom Bender of Wimberley, who works in painting and different mediums and media. His creative artwork is displayed across the region and south Texas .

Mikiko Kudo is very creative and is featured from Dripping Springs. Having been born in Japan, her artistic talent and being raised in Japan is reflected in her art. She has also been featured in many Central Texas exhibitions.

These talented artists are just two of the artists that will be displayed at the event on Thursday August 23, second floor of the Hays County Government Center, 712 S. Stagecoach Trail in San Marcos, 6 to 8 p.m. Refreshments are being provided Linda Allen’s Catering, with wine and beer being served. A jazz combo will be performing. It ix entirely free and is open to the public.
