“Reba Byrd Day” declared at City Hall
The Dripping Springs City Hall was packed with well-wishers who came to witness Council Member Taline Manassian present Reba Byrd with a DS City Proclamation declaring April 16, 2019 “Reba Byrd Day.”
When Mayor Pro Tem Bill Foulds invited any of Ms. Byrd’s friends who were present to join her in a group photograph, the entire assembly rose to the occasion.
Ms. Byrd and her husband, L.T. Byrd, owned a ranch near town, when in 1993, she decided to open a 1000 sq. ft. fabric store, calling it “Le Ragge Ruggs.” In 1996, she expanded store to include local gift items, and called the new addition “Cowgirls & Lace.”
The enterprise now encompasses over 20,000 square feet, and has become one of the state’s largest inventories of fabric and home decoration merchandize, drawing customers throughout Texas as a travel destination.
The Proclamation states, “Reba has put her heart into the homes of our community through her contributions and service.” She has been a friend, mentor, and supporter of many individuals and organizations in need, and has significantly impacted the city’s economy in her business endeavors.
Grinning from ear to ear, Ms. Byrd was followed out of DS City Hall by the crowd bearing flowers and gifts to honor her recognition.
“The Dripping Springs City Council calls upon all residents of Dripping Springs to recognize Reba’s valuable contributions to our community.”
