Songwriters Festival announces dates for application submissions

2020 saw canceled music festivals, a decimated live music scene, and lost revenue for the music industry, but rescheduled shows and music festivals are returning including the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival which announced last month it will be returning to downtown Dripping Springs on October 15-17, 2021. Prospective performers are required to fill out an application to perform at the 3-day festival and submissions will be accepted from April 1 through July 1, 2021. A link to the application will be posted on the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival social channels and on the festival’s website (drippingspringssong writersfestival.com) under Songwriter Submissions.

The annual music festival, which is in its 7th year, highlights esteemed local and national talent creating a platform for emerging songwriters and established artists to broaden their reach and horizons. Audiences and music lovers are treated to a wide variety of amazing songs and the people and stories behind the finely crafted tunes during the 3-day festival.

The songwriting showcases allow attendees to experience tomorrow’s headliners in small-stage performances at unique venues in historic downtown Dripping Springs. On six stages, featuring thirty shows a day, over forty-five songwriters will perform in an “in the round” Nashville-style song-swap format. The festival is free to attend and attracts 3,000 music fans to Dripping Springs, TX.

The Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival was founded in 2014 by Jim and Laurie Halfpenny, and Dave Niemeyer. The Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau acquired the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival in 2020 and continues to offer music fans the up-close and personal chance to see, hear, and get to know some very talented performers who have a deep love of the art of songwriting.
