Same Lounge, Different Vibe: Grawlix Lounge adds on new space
Grawlix officially unveiled a brand-new addition to its Mercer Street cocktail lounge on Tuesday, Sept. 21. The grand opening of “the other side” featured raffles, prizes, giveaways and drink specials, as well as a ribbon-cutting with the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Grawlix Lounge was initially established two years ago by a local group of friends who said they were “tired of driving into Austin for a good time.”
The recent addition, constructed over the last 18 months, features TVs, pool table, arcade games and a speed bar. The bar was designed and painted by employee Morgane Xenos, taking a slightly darker, more urban approach to Grawlix’s comic-based decor.
While both sides to Grawlix have their own entrances, a door between the two is hidden behind a built-in bookshelf on the older lounge side.
“We promote experiencing new things by creating a relaxing atmosphere with the help of our amazing staff and delicious drinks,” said owner Jerome Bollom. “Come check us out and realize why you don’t have to go to Austin anymore!”
