Operation Christmas Child is coming to town

More than 4,000 locations will open across the country for Operation Christmas Child this coming week.

Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered shoebox gifts — filled with school supplies, hygiene items and fun toys — to children worldwide since 1993, benefitting humanitarian aid organization Samaritan’s Purse. During National Collection Week, Nov. 15–22, volunteers will collect the gifts, offering a curbside option.

“In the midst of the pandemic, children around the world need to know that God loves them and there is hope,” said Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse. “A simple shoebox gift opens the door to share about the true hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ.”

The nearest drop off location in Hays County is at the Hays Hills Baptist Church in Buda. However, shoebox gifts can also be mailed using the online drop-box form.

Those interested in more information on how Operation Christmas Child is making adjustments during its National Collection Week this year can visit the organization’s webpage www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/ for the latest information.
