Fortis Therapy opens new clinic

After three months in its new brick-and-mortar location, Fortis Therapy Center celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting, sponsored by the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce.

The non-profit physical therapy and fitness training clinic hosted the event on Thursday, April 21, at 5 p.m. The team of three — Meredith Kapchinski, PT, DPT; Matt Marchant, CPT, CES; and Kyle Marchand, PT, DPT — were joined by community and chamber members to help celebrate the occasion.

“Our mission at Fortis Therapy Center is to help individuals become the best version of themselves through fitness and therapy, empowering individuals to thrive and prosper,” said Kapchinski. “Fortis is Latin for ‘strength,’ so at Fortis we ask, ‘What makes you strong?’” Our goal is to strengthen families and the community through our services.”

Fortis offers the only non-profit physical therapy and fitness clinic in Hays County, providing customized one-on-one physical therapy sessions for all ages — from infants to seniors. Fortis also offers therapy services to children with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, muscular dystrophy and other neurological and or thopedic diagnoses.

In January, Fortis initiated the first session of Project Walk, which provides children with cerebral palsy and other non-progressive disorders the opportunity to receive intensive physical therapy, focusing on increasing lower extremity and core strength, postural strength and endurance and lower extremity coordination. Through fundraising and community grants, Project Walk is delivered at nocost.
