Dripping Springs launches new agenda management software

The City of Dripping Springs launched new agenda management software on August 1: Municode Meetings. Municode Meetings offers the City a way to save time and increase community access to important public meeting agendas and minutes. In this new system, agendas, packets, and minutes are aggregated into a simple, sortable list. It’s easier to use, searchable, and more transparent for the community.

According to Dripping Springs City Secretary Andrea Cunningham, “With the growth of our community, we needed a more efficient way to process agendas and a simpler way for constituents to access those agendas and minutes. This new software not only helps with access to City Council agendas and minutes, but the City has 11 boards and commissions, so there was a great need to simplify the process for all involved.”

Another great feature of the new software is the ability to now share the complete packet of information regarding items being discussed, not just the agenda. This includes supporting material such as City Hall staff reports, commission and board reports, and more.

“This is such an important aspect of this new software,” says Cunningham. “This will help everyone be more informed, so those interested in agenda items can understand all the details being discussed and/or voted on at council, board and commission meetings.”

The City launched the new software in the beginning of August. It’s been testing the new system for the past two weeks with great success. All agendas and minutes are now located on the new software platform, that can be accessed from the City’s home page of their website: cityofdrippingsprings.com. On that same page, visitors can find a link to all archived agendas and minutes prior to the Aug. 1 launch date.

Municode Meetings software was created by Municode, a company that has been serving local governments for over 65 years, with more than 4,000 local government clients. When meeting and agenda management solutions first became available to local governments, the only options were expensive, onsite, server-based solutions that were extremely labor-intensive to set up and customize. The new Municode Meeting software is cloud-based allowing for rapid and affordable implementation for the City.
