Dripping Springs Community Foundation now accepting applications

The Dripping Springs Community Foundation (DSCF) is now accepting applications from qualified area non-profits for grants as part of its Spring cycle of funding, according to DSCF Board President Susan Santamaria.

Applications are accepted through January 31 for funding for projects in 2021. Since it was established, the DSCF has presented grants to thirtyeight different organizations in the Dripping Springs area. Annually, project grants may be made in the areas of education, historic preservation, health and human services, community development, arts and culture, the environment, and animal welfare, among others.

According to Santamaria, Grants are scored according to:

• Proven performance of past efforts of the organization;

• The perceived value to the Dripping Springs community;

• Innovative logic;

• Proven viability;

• Measurable beneficial application; and

• Practical and effective use of the funds.

Grants will be awarded within 90 days of the submittal deadline.

In recent years, the foundation has awarded funds to the Hays County Master Naturalists for the equipping and construction of a bird-watching deck at the DS Ranch Park; to the Friends of the Pound House for the restoration of archived materials; and to the Dripping Springs Education Foundation for automation equipment for the high school’s MIT FabLab.

Other past recipients of DSCF grant funds include the Hill Country Senior Citizens Activity Center, RED Arena, the Burke Center, the Friends Foundation and Thundering Paws. DSCF also serves as the fiscal agent and partner of the Dripping Springs Skate Park group.

The grant application form is available in the For Non-Profits section on the DSCF website at dscommunityfoundation.org.
