Dripping Springs’ newest beauty bar

Little Laurettas takes up permanent shop in town

Little Laurettas celebrated the transition into their new brick and mortar store with a ribbon cutting ceremony last week, courtesy of the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Little Laurettas started as a lash and brow business in November of 2018, operating out of a small studio. On September 15, the business opened the doors to a new, larger location off of Highway 290. It now offers lash extensions of all types; lash lifts and tints; henna brows; brow lamination; full-body waxing; roll-on, sunless tans; facials and chemical peels.

Inspiration for the beauty bar stemmed from owner and founder Chelsea Humphrey’s childhood — in a couple of ways.

“Little Laurettas is named after my sweet mama,” Humphrey explained. “Growing up, she always took me to this tiny salon in my hometown. I listened to these ladies have such an amazing connection, chatting about their lives, and I enjoyed the environment so much.”

“I knew from a young age that I would be in the beauty industry because I wanted to be in that atmosphere all of the time,” Humphrey continued. “I originally thought hair was what I would do because I’m licensed in it. I tried everything my license would allow me to, but lashes found me, and I fell madly in love.”

What sets the business apart from other beauty bars is its focus on continuing education.

“Most salons — specifically in the lash and brow industry — do not have employees, and if they do, they are rarely offered continued training,” said Humphrey. “I believe as an artist you can grow at 1 year, 5 years, 10 years and so on. My goal is to lead my employees in a direction where they will always use healthy and safe practices and never stop learning.”

Little Laurettas will host its official grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 2 to 6 p.m. The event will feature local business giveaways, food catered by This Girl’s Kitchen, and cranberry mimosas.
