NOW- Library e-book fundraiser 

The Dripping Springs Community Library is currently raising money for e-books and eAudiobooks in honor of National Library Week. “We are adding significantly to our eBook and Audiobook collection. Extra money for that is definitely welcome,” Librarian Marcia Atilano said. Physical checks can be made out to FODSCL and mailed to: FODSCL, 501 Sportsplex Dr., Dripping Springs, TX 78620. NOW- RED Arena Horse of the Year 

Vote for your RED Arena 2020 Horse of the Year! “All our therapy horses are amazing but only one can be named ‘Horse of the Year.’ The horse with the most donations wins.

Your donation will help support horse care, feedings and vet expenses, these are ongoing even when our services are shut down. Entrepreneurship Boot Camps

Dripping Workforce Solutions has coordinated with Texas State University McCoy School of Business to launch Entrepreneurship Boot Camps. These are for anyone who has a business idea that they want to pursue or for current business owners looking to retool their business plan for the new climate. 10th Annual Round-Up

RED Arena’s 10th Annual Round-Up fundraiser will take place on Oct. 15 and 16, at DS Ranch Park. “Our horse show provides an opportunity for our riders of all ability levels  to compete in fun horse events & be cheered on by our great community. Bring the family, there's no charge to park or enter! Free kids games & prizes, mini horses & petting zoo! Hill Country Living Festival & Rainwater Revival

The Hill Country Living Festival & Rainwater Revival festival has been rescheduled to take place on Saturday October 24, at DS Ranch Park Event Center, 1042 Event Center Drive. “Come celebrate the art of catching rain and living lightly, responsibly, and beautifully in the Texas Hill Country. Closures & Changes

 

Library continues to be closed

The Dripping Springs Community Library has extended its closure date past the original May 4th target. “Although the Governor’s latest Executive order GA-18 allows for libraries and museums to open Friday, May 1 at 25% capacity, DSCL will not yet be opening. We are working to secure masks, gloves, public service shields and more to have in place when we do open.” DUE DATE EXTENSIONS: The library has extended the due dates of all printed, CDB, and DVD materials currently checked out. The new date will be set for seven days after the library re-opens to the public. Five Star ER Closed

The Five Star Emergency Room at 333 E. Hwy 290 (next to the Dripping Springs McDonalds) is closed. A notice at fivestarer.com states, “All Five Star ER facilities are closed.” No other information as provided.

 

City of Dripping Springs

“All City-sponsored events and all events at City facilities, including all events at Dripping Springs Ranch Park, are cancelled until May 14, 2020. This includes the City’s Annual Founders Day Festival. All commission, committee, and board meetings will be held on a case-by-case basis. The City is open to serve our community, but our City offices are closed to walk-in traffic. DSISD closed for remainder of school year. 

Dripping Springs ISD has extended its closure for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year to comply with Gov. Abbott’s order. “As we have been doing over the past three weeks, DSISD and all seven schools will continue our commitment to providing purposeful learning to all students via a remote platform. DSHS Cancels Senior Portfolio

Dripping Springs High School has cancelled the Senior Portfolio project for the 2019-2020 school year in order to lighten student workload while transitioning to online learning. Students will not need to complete this requirement in order graduate. 

 

The Springs YMCA closed until further notice

The Springs YMCA was closed on March 17, and will remain closed “until further notice.” In an email dated March 17, YMCA of Austin President & CEO James P. Finck announced the closure of all YMCA facilities in Austin, Hays County, and Bastrop County citing health concerns. “We don’t know what the future will bring, but we are committed to reopening our Ys at the very first chance we can and look forward to serving our community,” Finck said.
