Chamber Luncheon

The Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly luncheon on Thursday Jan. 23,  from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at The Terrace, 2600 E. Hwy 290. The lunch will include a presentation “State of the City by City of Dripping Springs.” The meal will be catered by Gourmet Gals Catering and Events. On Borrowed Time; 1939 film

The Dripping Springs Community Library will screen “On Borrowed Time,” on Thursday Jan. 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The 1939 classic film stars Lionel Barrymore as an elderly man who traps death (Sir Cedric Hardwicke) in his magical apple tree to prolong his life for the benefit of his young, orphaned grandson, played by Bobs Watson. The film is suitable for all ages, and the event is free and open to the public. Popcorn will be served. DSCL is located at 501 Sportsplex Drive. For more information call (512) 858-7825.

Hays County Livestock Show

The Hays County Livestock Show will return to the Dripping Springs Ranch Park & Event Center on Jan. 21 through Jan. 25. The Hays County Livestock Show is an opportunity for 4-H and FFA members from across Hays County to exhibit their project work. This is also a time for community members and business leaders to come together to support these young people through the junior livestock auction.

Wedding Showcase

The Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau and the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce are partnering to sponsor a “Wedding Capital of Texas® Showcase” on Sunday Jan. 26, at Camp Lucy’s Sacred Oaks, 3509 Creek Road, in Dripping Springs. The Showcase will have two components. First, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., couples and their wedding parties will have the chance to visit each vendor for a one-on-one connection. The second element will be venue and lodging tours from noon to 4 p.m. Guests will have opportunities to visit locations with no appointments needed. Tickets are $10 per person.

Senior Community Health Screening

Dripping Springs Ranch Park & Event Center will host a “Life Line Screening,” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tue. Jan. 28. The screening will offer a five test package to check for risk of stroke, cardiovascular disease, and other potential health issues. Blood Drive

“We Are Blood,” will hold a blood drive on Saturday Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hill Country Senior Activity Center Parking Lot, 1310 U.S. Hwy 290. The Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Star Awards on Thursday Feb. 6, at 6 p.m., at DS Ranch Park. “Celebrating Excellence in the DS Community.” Sponsorships are available.
