CARES Act Healthcare Webinar

Texas A&M Law School will host a free webinar on the effects on health care by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on Monday April 13 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Central. Discussion topics will include: “Availability of and funding for screening tests, treatment, and vaccines; Who can get tested, where, and when?; Access to care for the uninsured, undocumented, minorities, etc.; Implications for Medicaid/Medicare; and Funding for medical equipment (e.g., ventilators), and for hospitals and healthcare facilities.” To register, and receive log-in information visit: https://info.law.tamu.edu/cares-act-webinar-3 . Closures & Changes

 

Five Star ER Closed

The Five Star Emergency Room at 333 E. Hwy 290 (next to the Dripping Springs McDonalds) is closed. A notice at fivestarer.com states, “All Five Star ER facilities are closed.” No other information as provided.

 

City of Dripping Springs

“All City-sponsored events and all events at City facilities, including all events at Dripping Springs Ranch Park, are cancelled until May 14, 2020. This includes the City’s Annual Founders Day Festival. All commission, committee, and board meetings will be held on a case-by-case basis. The City is open to serve our community, but our City offices are closed to walk-in traffic. DSISD closed until May 4 

Dripping Springs ISD has extended its closure to May 4. “Governor Abbott issued an order for all schools to remain closed until May 4, to slow the spread of Coronavirus. To fully support this state directive, Dripping Springs ISD will be extending our school closure/remote learning format, with return to school no sooner than May 4, 2020. This decision also is consistent with federal guidelines and the Hays County “Stay at Home, Work Safe” order. DSHS Cancels Senior Portfolio

Dripping Springs High School has cancelled the Senior Portfolio project for the 2019-2020 school year in order to lighten student workload while transitioning to online learning. Students will not need to complete this requirement in order graduate. 

 

Library closed until May 4

The Dripping Springs Community Library has extended its closure to May 4. “In the best interest of the community & library staff, we are now suspending the circulation of our print books. We know this is disappointing to many of you. Remember DSCL has an extensive collection of eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eResources available through the internet. DUE DATE EXTENSIONS: The library has extended the due dates of all printed, CDB, and DVD materials currently checked out. The new date will be set for seven days after the library re-opens to the public. The Springs YMCA closed until further notice

The Springs YMCA was closed on March 17, and will remain closed “until further notice.” In an email dated March 17, YMCA of Austin President & CEO James P. Finck announced the closure of all YMCA facilities in Austin, Hays County, and Bastrop County citing health concerns. “We don’t know what the future will bring, but we are committed to reopening our Ys at the very first chance we can and look forward to serving our community,” Finck said. H-E-B Changes Store Hours

H-E-B announced changed hours for all its stores and pharmacies. All stores will open at 8 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. until further notice. H-E-B added that customers will also
see reduced services in its delis, bakeries and floral departments.
