NOW- Library Porch-Side Service

The Dripping Springs Community Library is now open using modified porch-side service. “During this time, library staff will be in place from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. This means that you may put print books, DVDs, and CDBs on Reserve by logging into your library account. You will get the usual notification when the library materials are available for pickup. Bring your library card or driver's license to show when you come to pick up Reserves between 9am and 4pm, Monday through Friday. Please call us when you are at the front door. We appreciate your understanding that after 4pm, we will be cleaning and pulling library materials for the next day and unavailable for delivering your materials to the door. If you are coming to the library, we strongly encourage and appreciate that you wear a mask or face covering and practice social distancing.” DSCL is located at 501 Sportsplex Drive; their telephone is (512) 858-7825.

Patriot Day--Ceremony at "The Triangle”

Friday, September, 11 is the 19 th Anniversary of the 9/11 attack on our country. The day is also referred to as Patriot Day. It is observed as a day to remember and honor those who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.

The VFW Post 2933 and American Legion Post 290 will hold a small ceremony at the Memorial Flagpole at the Triangle on Friday, September 11 at 8:30 AM. Due to COVID-19, the ceremony will be small and will be reduced to a ceremony that rings a bell, plays TAPS and lowers the Flag at 8:46 AM. Along with the veterans, a small group of Police, Fire, and EMT personnel will attend. Attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.

The Friends Foundation Online Auction Fundraiser

The Friends Foundation’s 27th Fundraising auction to help our area elderly is Online this year. New this year is an Online Gold ticket drawing. The winning ticket owner gets to select (one) Featured Auction Item. Tickets are $100 each. Only 100 will be sold. Sign in to register at www.thefriendfoundation.org for Gold ticket sales and Feature Items preview beginning Monday, September 21st at 8:00 AM. The electronic drawing will take place when ticket sales reach 100 or at the close of ticket sales on October 1st at 10:00 AM. Gold Ticket holders must be available by phone on Thursday, October 1st. The Gold ticket winner’s Feature item pick will be removed, and the remaining Feature items will be included with all auction items when bidding starts on Thursday, October 1 at 5 p.m. The auction will close at 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 8. October 18 - Handmade Tamales - Pork/red sauce, Chicken/red or green sauce, and vegetarian - queso blanco . Pre-orders only taken until October 6. 9am - 2pm Drive-thru pick up.

October 25 - K of C Grillin Classics 9am - 2pm
