City of Dripping Springs now accepting HOT Grant funding applications
The City of Dripping Springs is accepting applications for local Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) grant funds. Hotel Occupancy Tax is collected from hotels and other lodging facilities. Under state law, these funds may only be used to promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry.
Each year, Dripping Springs City Council approves an amount of HOT funds to be allocated to external organizations for this purpose. To have an event considered, projects must increase overnight stays in the area and meet one of nine categories for expenditure:
• Convention and Visitor Centers
• Convention Registration
• Advertising the City
• Promotion of the Arts
• Historical Restoration and Preservation
• Sporting Events
• Transportation Systems for Tourists
• Signage Directing Tourists to Sights and Attractions
• Promotion and Preservation of Dark Skies
Applications are due by 5 p.m., May 3. To view the grant application and guidelines, please visit cityofdrippingsprings.com/page/city.notices. For questions, call the City of
