Wrestling team defeats renowned Vipers

After spending many years practicing in old district gyms, the Dripping Springs wrestling program now has some fantastic new digs to ply their trade. They may be experiencing new surroundings but the winning tradition they have carved out over the years is still the same. While Covid-19 has changed some of the things they get to do, winning goes on. Whereas in the past they were able to compete in tournaments as most of their competitions, today they are limited to dual matches. At the present they have a 13-2 dual record. They will return to tournament format starting with the district tourney.

Future looks bright for lacrosse players

U.S. Lacrosse Magazine dubbed Dripping Springs as “a football town just outside of Austin that has turned itself into a powerhouse lacrosse program.” Like the city itself, a once hidden gem, the college lacrosse world discovered Dripping Springs High School. Over the past four years the team has sent 12 players to NCAA programs. That does not include the athletes playing for college club teams like Arkansas, Oregon, Texas, Texas State and A&M. If you are wondering how this is happening, look no further than Head Coach Bill Cafferata.

Bi-district soccer games set

The two Dripping Springs soccer teams get to do something that is rare in today's sports world. They will get to play at the same site. Fans of a sport seldom get to watch both of their teams play because the schedule calls for the teams to play at opposite sites. However, this will not be the case for DS soccer for their Bi-district games. Each of the two teams won their respective districts which means they will play the fourth place team from the next district. In this case it just so happens that Leander Rouse also won fourth in both divisions. This made scheduling simple. The Bidistrict games will be played at Dripping Springs Friday, March 26. Lady Tigers at 5:30 and Tigers 7:30.
