The Tigers narrowly missed making Lake Travis the 100th milestone victory for Coach Zimmerman’s eleven years at the helm last week but made sure it would be secured this week with a 63-0 win over Del Valle. To this point Dripping Springs has carved out a 100-28 record to go with six titles. In the history of games with the Cardinals, the Tigers hold a 9-3 advantage.

It was a mismatch from the beginning and the Cardinals contributed heavily to their loss with two punt snaps out of the endzone for safeties and two kickoff returns for TD’s. Ian French opened the scoring with a 40FG and next Jaceton Gotta blasted in from the two. 14-0. DV gave up their first safety and Ryder Frost took the safety kickoff to the house for a 69 TD and the Tigers held a 19-0 lead after one.

Second no better. Chase Ames connected with Merrick Bloomgren for 33. Then the second safety. Frank Accetta returned the KO 81 for a TD. A penalty negated. Ames would later hit Harrison Rohrer for a 20TD. Anthony Delgado stopped DV’s last drive with an interception. 35-0 at the half.

Frost took the second half KO and promptly returned it 92 yards for the score. An Ames to Lawson Attaway for six bumped the score to 49-0. A 17-play drive by DV took up the rest of the third. Subs took over and Logan Keim hit Tak Erwin for an 18 score and Accetta closed it with a 14 run. 63-0.

All that was left was to preserve the shutout. A DV back broke free on what looked to be an 82 TD run. Tripp Weise was determined to prevent. He took the best angle he had and as he neared the runner it was apparent the runner was pulling ahead for the score. Weise took a flying leap and barely touched his heel. No doubt had he trimmed his nails he would not have made the play. The runner went sprawling at the 25. Shutout saved.

The Tigers have their bye week this Friday before going to Westlake next week for the final regular season game. Then it is on to the playoffs.
