Track teams set records at Round Rock

Even though the season has been shortened by the ice age, the varsity track teams are starting to hit mid-season strides with their results. They entered the Round Rock Invitational meet and came away with the Lady Tigers winning their title. The Tigers placed second. The teams would bring home a total of ten gold medals. Kate Ginther would wipe out a school record in the 800 that had been around since 1993 while Caleb Lopez, who won twice, erased the 3200 record, set in 2006.

Lady Tigers softball hits rough spot

It was a good thing the Lady Tigers had district play to fall back on. They would dispose of Boerne Champion 11-1 and finished the week with a victory over Alamo Heights. But the trip to take part in the Leander tourney was a washout, going 0-4-1. Leander Glenn outlasted the Lady Tigers 11-8, followed by a 5-3 loss to Lake Belton. Lake Travis and DS battled to a 2-2 tie. Cibolo Steele blanked DS 4-0 and Cedar Park came back with five runs in the final two innings to nail down a 6-4 victory.

Dripping Springs soccer teams clinch title

Both of the Dripping Springs varsity soccer teams claimed their district titles and still had three games to play. They would then take another win at the expense of Lehman. Both teams have earned top five rankings in the state and hope to finish up what they did not get to attempt last year due to the pandemic. For sure, the Tigers will play Leander Rouse in the bi-district round next week and most likely the Lady Tigers will meet the same opponent.
