Campbell supports Abbott’s School Safety Plan
Dripping Springs State Senator Donna Campbell joined Gov. Greg Abbott in S an Marcos last week when he announced his new safety plan.
After the visit, Campbell released a statement of support for Abbott.
“I am proud to stand with Governor Abbott to ensur e the safety and w ell-being of Texas children in our schools” Campbell said. “M any valuable proposals came out of the Governor’s talks with victims, families, mental health professionals, and law enforcement, and I am com - mitted to help pass and fund as many of these legislativ e solutions as possible. Protecting Texas citizens and defending our second amendment rights are not mutually exclusive, but go hand-in-hand to make our communities safer. I commend Governor Abbott for his leadership and would only add that we ensure Texas children are instilled with strong moral values as part of their early education, because creating good citizens is just as important as building a strong workforce.”
Texas Senator Donna Campbell is Chair woman of the Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee and represents Senate District 25, which includes D rippings Springs, as w ell as par ts of Austin and San Antonio.
