The Tigers battled Austin rush hour to face their crosstown rival Vandergrift under the lights Thursday. The Vipers were ranked ninth in the State, Drip ranked 13th. The Vipers had not beaten Dripping Springs for four years and were primed to exact revenge on the Tigers. They did with a 13-6 beatdown.

Dripping Springs found a district in 26-5A that has schools with strong interests in track as well. The Boerne Champion Chargers proved to have loaded guns this year and ended up being no match for anyone else by taking all four divisions. Dripping Springs also had a talented group but could not pull off enough top places and finished second in three of the four divisions.

Never fails. Last week we lamented the Lady Tigers were not getting much competition in district play. Immediately the second round of action occurred and begged to differ. Hays Johnson would overcome a 2-0 lead by DS with three in the sixth to gain a 3-2 win and tie the Lady Tigers for the district lead. NB Canyon scored one in the first but DS would shut them down the rest of the way while adding six of their own. Finally, Boerne Champion went down 10-0 in the first match but bowed their necks and it was all the Lady Tigers could do to ease past 3-0.
