I would be amiss to leave the 1930's Dripping Springs sports scene without highlighting some of the best athletes to ever grace the hallways. It is always hard to compare players between the generations because of the circumstances and improvements of equipment to work with. However, I have no doubt these athletes would have starred in whatever generation we would want to compare. Boys 25-5A Soccer All-District Selections

With the chances of the playoffs for soccer waning, the boys 25-5A All-district selections have been released by the coaches. As it should be, the district champion Tigers and second place Travis Rebels dominated the selections.

Girls 25-5A Soccer All-District selections

The Dripping Springs Lady Tigers had a fantastic soccer season which had an unfortunate ending. When the season was called to a halt they were 21-1, 14-0, district champions, ranked number one in Centex and top three in the state.

Sports Opinion: Random Musings April 23

Well the inevitable has happened and the dangled carrot has been taken away. The final hope of salvaging any part of the high school spring sports season was dashed when the Governor declared that all schools would be closed for the remainder of the school year. The UIL had no choice but to cancel any thought of restarting. The next question will be when or if the sports programs will be allowed to begin the new school year.

Sports Opinion: Random Musings

As we continue down the coronavirus trail and head toward the destination on the other side, the next question will be what will the new normal look like? Over the years of our lifetimes and past history there have been many changes due to things beyond our control that cause us to change direction. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the less than better. Here are some of my thoughts about what might be coming down the pike.
