Tiger Soccer in district play

The Dripping Springs soccer teams are demonstrating their ability to be in the mix come playoff time. Both have played quality teams during preseason and acquitted themselves well. They are now in district play and they should wend their way to district titles in both divisions. The Lady Tigers have only one goal scored on them but it was enough to inflict their only loss at the hands of New Braunfels Canyon.

The Tigers have pushed out to a 2-0 record in district on the strength of a 2-0 win over Travis and 4-0 over Crockett. At the same time the JV was taking care of business with 4-1 and 8-1 wins. The freshman also won 2-1 and 3-0.

Vs Travis: G/A: Adam Knutson/Beck McWorther; McWorther/Kay Anthamatten.

Vs Crockett: Knutson/McWorther; Brady England; Anthamatten/McWorther; England/Knutson.

JV vs Travis: Goals: Chuy Mujica-Silva 2, Diego Zamudio; Daniel Garcia.

JV vs Crockett: Zamudio 3, Rick Alvarez 2, Magnes Nissen 2, Javier Gonzalez.

9 vs Travis: Nic Quezada; York Merrill.

9 vs Crockett: Quezada 2, York Merrill.

In their own tourney, the Lady Tigers were undefeated with wins over Clemens (3-0); Friendswood (2-0) and Woodlands (2-0). They would overrun the Lady Rebels of Travis 9-0 and Crockett.

Vs Friendship: G: Georgia Irons, Ruff. Asst: Picucci.

Vs Woodlands: G: Picucci, Taliyah. Asst: Picucci.
