Tiger Soccer district odds look good

Both of the varsity soccer teams are well into winning their respective districts with only four games remaining. The Lady Tigers are undefeated at 10-0 and the Tigers have a 7-1-2 record. The last two games have been with Crockett and Lanier.

The Tigers continue to have close games but coming out on top. It was a 2-0 shutout over Crockett. Ethan Roberts got the first goal, assisted by Ken Gossett, with Max Gonzales making the second. DS came into the game leading second place Lanier and extended that margin with their 2-1 win. Juan Galindo with an assist by Gonzales was the scoring combo for both goals.

DS JV lost to both teams 1-0. The ninth defeated Crockett 6-0 and Lanier 3-0. Scoring against Crockett was Javier Ortega 2, Ethan Turner, Eduardo Jaime, Diego Zamudio, Javier Gonzalez. Daniel Garcia scored twice and Ortega one in the Lanier game.

The Lady Tigers continued their one-sided onslaught of the district with an 8-0 win over Crockett. Sofia Piccuci got the scoring started at 18.33 off a cross by Jessica Carmichael. Two minutes later the same combo scored. At 6.14 Zoe Flores scored from the six box and another assist by Carmichael. Less than a minute later Piccuci scored from the 20 with Caroline Luttrull assisting. Carmichael got her goal on a breakaway assisted by Flores to make it 5-0 at the half. Reserves got much action in the second half. Elizabeth Driggers off a rebound on a kick by Chloe Sansalone. Jane Atwood scored from the 10 line. Hallie Woodward scored the final from the 18 box. Atwood assisted.

DS would score four goals in each half to down Lanier 8-0. No stats available at press time.

DSJV defeated Crockett 2-0. Leila Cavazos scored with an assist by Nadia Pineda and the other by Cady Russell.
