Tiger Baseball plays in Georgetown tourney

Each year lately the Tigers baseball team has played in the Georgetown tourney playing the same schedule of teams. They play some very good competition to get their season started. DS ended up with a 1-3-1 record in the tourney. It will be used to get a starting lineup and adding depth to the pitching staff for the coming district season which will be upon us very quickly. This year the district schedule will have each team playing the other twice in a week to make pitching depth important for success and especially since there are pitch counts for pitchers.

The Tigers opened with Tuloso-Midway in a good one. DS would push across two runs in the fifth to go ahead 2-1 but T-M scored single runs in the sixth and seventh to win 3-2. A 5-run third broke open a close game and allowed the Tigers a 7-2 victory over College Park. After trailing 5-1, DS tied it up with a four-run sixth and it remained that way against Jersey Village. The Rockwall teams were rough on the Tigers. Rockwall blanked DS 4-0 and Rockwall-Heath kept the shutout going with a run-rule 10-0 victory.
