Tennis falls in regional finals

For the third straight year the Tigers team tennis squad has been denied a trip to state by the same team in the Regional finals. The first two years Alamo Heights came from the same district but they were in a different district this year but the result was the same.DS won District 25-5A recently. At the district meet they opened with a 10-0 win over Travis HS, then followed with another 10-0 win over Lockhart. This put them in the finals against LBJ. LBJ was able to score some points but still fell to the Tigers 10-4. Before the playoffs began, the Tigers matched up with Wimberley and Kerrville Tivy for good warmup matches. The Tigers would defeat both by identical 10-3 scores.

The Bi-district opponent for the Tigers was San Antonio Veterans Memorial. It was another 10-0 victory. The Area matchup pitted the Tigers against SA Northside Harlan. They also stood little chance against talent of DSHS and went down 10-1. DS met up with former district foe, Boerne Champion, in the regional quarterfinals played at Fredericksburg and defeated them 10-2. It was on to San Antonio Blossom Athletic Center where the Tigers out-stroked Tuloso-Midway 10-2 in the semis. Alamo Heights was the roadblock again in their 10-3 defeat.
