Spring sports are ready to begin

In a few weeks the winter sports will be completed but sports in general will continue in the form of spring sports for Dripping Springs athletes. Those sports include baseball, golf, softball, tennis and track.

Baseball: Practice has been going on for several weeks and the Tigers first action will be the Georgetown Invitational on February 21-23.

Golf: This sport really goes on the full year. They have matches during the fall and then finish up in the spring. They are limited to the number of tournaments they can enter in the year.

Softball: The Lady Tigers have officially begun their season as they played at Elgin this past Tuesday. Something to note on your calendar is the big Tuck Memorial Tourney held on February 21-23. This tourney is played in conjunction with Lake Travis with some of the better teams in the state competing. If you want to see good softball, then you should make plans to attend. Barring inclement weather this will be the Dripping Springs schedule. Feb 21: 9:00: DS vs Cedar Park; 7:30: DS vs Lubbock Cooper. Feb 22: 10:45: DS vs Arlington Heights; 7:30: DS vs Lovejoy. Feb 23: 12.30: DS vs Barbers Hill; 5.45: DS vs Vista Ridge. For more information and the other games please check the school website.

Tennis: Also underway under spring tennis rules. Check school website for schedule.

Track: Workouts have been going on for several weeks and opening competition will be in the Lake Travis Invitational on February 16. Dripping Springs will host their own meet the following Saturday.
