Sports Decade Fifth Games

1938: Destroyed Dale 105-0. This before mercy rule for six-man. No paper results, so no telling how many TD's were scored by E.E. Myers.

1948: Outscored Dowdy 19-6. No stats available.

1958: Tigers broke their four-game losing streak with a 0-0 tie with Bishop Forest. It was also their final game of the season for them.

1968: Tigers suffered their second non-district loss as a strong Johnson City team pulled ahead in the second half 34-14. Dennis Sansom tossed an 8 yard pass to Ricky Schieffer in the second quarter and a 5 yarder to Joe Williamson in the fourth. Ray Whisenant kicked both PATs. Randy Garnett rushed for 70 yards. Pass receiving: Jimmy Stigler 2-23; Paul Freitag 2-19.

1978: Put it all together in a 31-0 blanking of longtime rival Blanco. Vern McCarty rushed for 141 yards which included TD runs of 27, 23 and 7. Mark Watson passed for 134 yards and 36 TD pass to Jeff Thurman. Chris Harvill kicked four PATs and a 31FG. Ray Duvall rushed for 76 and caught two passes for 36.

1988: Swatted the Llano YellowJackets 41-15. Brett Boydston passed for 164 yards, including a TD 82 pass to John Russell and 40 to John Coil. Michael Myers rushed for 114, scoring on runs of 59 and 11. Part of Todd Reimers 88 rushing yards included TD runs of 4 and 67. Lance Loyd intercepted three passes.

1998: The Fredericksburg Battlin' Billies lived up to their name as they finished strong to defeat the Tigers 30-11. Russell Cameron kicked a 39FG in the first and Britt Peterson would take it in from the 12 in the fourth for the scoring. Matt Hightower caught 3 passes for 34.

2008: A missed extra point in the second overtime was the difference in the Tigers 27-26 win over Marble Falls. Jacob Moore scored on runs of 10 and 1 plus tossing the final OT 33 pass to Matt Erekson. Jeff Tuck hit Clay Carroll on a 4 pass. Hayden Fowlkes toed the all important PATs.
