Softball claims district title

The Lady Tigers played it close to the vest as they clinched first place in district. The Lady Tigers scored four in the first to solidify their 7-0 victory over Lehman. They would also open with four in the game with Seguin. However, the Lady Matadors did not let them off the hook that easily. They would go ahead 6-5 in the third with a five-spot. The game was tied at 7-7 in the fourth and the Lady Tigers pushed across the winning run in the sixth. The final district game was with Kerrville. A 5-1 win that avenged an earlier loss. Three walks, three hits gave DS the three runs they needed in the third to support H. Anderson's complete game.

A warmup game with 4A #4 ranked Lake Belton was next. It was a good game that ended 3-1 in the Lady Broncos favor. Each team had six hits but LB would get more out of theirs in a well-pitched game. One in the first and two in the third. DS scored in the sixth.

Bi-district games begin this week. DS will play the winner of the East View-Glenn game this weekend. Check the school website for final details.
