Lady Tigers Volleyball rolling through the season

After coming home from the Pearland tourney, the Lady Tigers were determined to improve their season record even further.

They went to the always-tough New Braunfels Fraulein Volleyfest where they would meet some familiar foes. When the smoke cleared, they had vanquished eight opponents to only one loss.

They went through the first six matches undefeated, which put them in the Gold Bracket on Saturday. Unfortunately, their first match was against old nemesis New Braunfels Canyon, who kept them out of the last two district championships and the state tourney last year. Still the thorn, the Lady Cougars downed the Lady Tigers 2-1 and relegated them to the consolation bracket.

The Lady Tigers came back with a victory over New Braunfels High and set up a rematch with Leander Rouse. It was another hard-fought game with DS taking consolation with the win. Their 17-6 record earned them a #12 ranking in the state.

After a brief respite easily taking care of district opponent Del Valle, the Lady Tigers jumped right back into the tournament warfare. After that, all attention will be turned to district play for the rest of the season.
