The Lady Tigers found out pretty quickly that Flour Bluff (Corpus Christi) was not bluffing as they pulled out the big sticks to pummel DS 13-3 and end their promising season at the regional semifinal level. Of the nine hits the Lady Tiger pitchers gave up, five were homeruns and a double. The Lady Tigers Softball finished their season with a 36-3 record.

It was a brighter start to the game as DS opened with two runs. Camille Corona bunted to reach on a single, sacrificed to second, stole third and scored on Ryann Campbell's double. Jayna Reid would bring in Campbell with a single. The final run would come in the fifth when Corona walked, sac bunt to second, advanced on a ground out and scored on Bailey Hudgeon's two-out single.

Meanwhile, Flour Bluff was pecking away. In the second it was a leadoff homerun. In the third, an error led to another run to tie the game. The fourth brought two on a hit batter, followed by a homerun. It was another leadoff homerun in the fifth, followed by a hit batter brought in by a double. The sixth certainly put the Lady Tigers to rest with the final seven runs that brought on the run-rule. A leadoff homerun began the action. A walk, error and two singles moved three more across the plate. A hit batter put the second runner on base and a walk off three-run homer sent the Lady Tigers packing their bags and looking back on what might have been.
