Lady Tigers Softball mow down opposition

Planning anything outside in February is definitely a crap shoot when it comes to weather but plan you must. The Dripping Springs Lady Tigers annual Brittany Tuck Memorial tourney is an example. Last year two of the three days were cancelled due to the inclement weather. This year the forecast was sketchy but everything cleared and the tourney went ahead full force with teams from all over the state.

The Lady Tigers continue to show they will be a force during this season as they continue to mow down the opposition. They have everything it takes. A strong pitching staff, an offense that can hit, hit with power and run the bases and a shutdown defense. All came into play in this tourney.

Tourneys are used to prepare for the season. DS opened with a 7-3 win over Cedar Park. This was sparked by 13 hits with 4 x-base hits. Lubbock Cooper gave a preview of district when they fell 17-0 in two innings with 14 hits, 7 x-base. FW Arlington Heights was disposed of 10-0. Another 12 hits, 8 x-base. Lucas Lovejoy battled hard before falling 7-4. A preview of the state tourney occurred when the Lady Tigers hooked up with Barbers Hill for nine innings before losing 3-1. To start an inning the team at bat gets runners on second and third. BH used two Lady Tiger errors to score their three runs and DS could only come up with one. DS got their lone hit in the fifth. Kyndall Womack drove in Camille Corona with a single in the last inning to bring the Lady Tigers all the way back for a 6-5 win.
