Lady Tigers All-District Selections

A great season that ended just short of expectations brought the first of many awards in the form of all-district selections to the Dripping Springs Lady Tigers. They dominated district play and made it to the regional semi-finals with a 36-3 record. Here are those honors:

Special Awards: District MVP: No contest. Senior shortstop Camille Corona from DS. She led the team with 117 at bats, set school records with 76 hits, .650 batting average, 74 runs, 14 triples, 121 total bases and 1.034 slugging percentage plus having 44 stolen bases.

Offensive Player of the Year: Grace Ross, Crockett catcher; Defensive Player of the Year: Julia Crofut, McCallum Sr SS; Pitcher of the Year: Logan Hulon, DS Sr. Was 17-3, struck out 200, pitched 109 innings, allowed 33 hits and walked 41 with .83 ERA. Newcomer of the Year: Torie Escobedo, Lockhart sophomore outfielder; Coach of the Year: Wade Womack, Dripping Springs.

First Team Selections:

Dripping Springs: Bailey Hudgeons, Sr catcher: Had 60 hits, batted .566, set school record with 59 rbis, led team with 12 doubles and had 4 triples and 3 homeruns, slugging pct of .839. Ryann Campbell, Sr 3B. Batted .416, had 37 hits, 52 runs, 40 rbis, 10 doubles, 9 triples, 3 hrs and led team with 24 walks and had a slg pct of 831. Kyndall Womack, Sr P/1B: Batted .443 with 39 hits, 33 runs, 36 rbis, 15-0 record and 1.45 ERA. Jayna Reid, Jr 2B: Batted .360 on 31 hits, 32 runs, 20 rbi, 9 doubles, 3 triples, 3 hrs, .639 slg pct.

Lockhart: Alyssa Barrientez, Marissa Camacho, Leah Herrera, Alexis Barrientez.

Crockett: Natalie Gonzales, Ciera Dickey, Alyssa Gomez.

LBJ: Audrey Heffeman, Maddy Dixon, Sarida Morejon.

McCallum: Diamante Diaz, Ciara Medrano.

Travis: Alyana Reddy, Alyssa Martinez; Lanier: Celine Rendon; Reagan: Melinda Cardenas.

Second Team Selections:

DS: Mackenzie Pierpoint, Sr OF: Batted .423, 33 hits, 27 runs, 24 rbis and 7 doubles. Brooke Rummel, Sr OF: Batted .339, 20 hits, 27 runs, 14 rbis, 6 doubles and was hit by pitch 9 times. Jessica Gonzales, Sr OF: Batted .327, 16 hits, 17 runs, 13 rbis. Izzy Bermudez, Sr 1B/DP: Batted .333, 27 hits, 21 runs, 26 rbis, 7 doubles, 6 hrs.

Lockhart: Alyanna Contreras, Emmy Sanchez, Gaby Gomez. LBJ: Alden Little, Megan Marostica, Francesca Gigliotti. McCallum: Sierra Alvarez, Fayth Schumann. Lanier: Alyssia Mendez. Reagan: Saniyah Oviedo. Travis: Lucyanna De La Fuente, Ayana Salinas.

Honorable Mention: Ashley Rummel, DS.

All-Academic Selections: Even more a valuable award is the classroom work of the students. It continually shows that students can spend the time to be good athletes and also shine in the classroom.

DS honorees: Ashley Rummel, Brook Rummel, Izzy Bermudez, Camille Corona, Ryann Campbell, Ryleigh Needham, Kyndall Womack, Bailey Hudgeons.
