Lady Tiger Volleyball Underway

The Lady Tigers volleyball season has started fast and furious as it always does in their quest for a deep run in the playoffs. They will play half their games by the first week of school. Because of the weakness of the district schedule, the Lady Tigers will have to prepare for the playoffs by playing tough opponents in the early going and hope the edge can be sustained for the two months of non-existent competition in district play. That is a very difficult situation and hurts the good teams going to the playoffs. After being in cruise control for so long, it is not easy to suddenly hit championship stride for the playoffs. If anyone can do it, it will be the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Tigers opened play by splitting their matches against Rouse and Round Rock Westwood. Both teams were strong last year and return key individuals. Dripping Springs would survive their close match with Rouse 25-18, 25-23, 25-21. However, they dropped their match to Westwood in three sets 17-25, 23-25, 22-25. After this, the Lady Tigers traveled to Pearland for their annual battle in that tough tournament. Results of that tourney were not available by press time and will be covered in the next issue.
