Lady Tiger Basketball has wins over Lockhart and McCallum

Article Image Alt Text

Still a few weeks away before the Lady Tigers get to start their real season in the form of the playoffs. They have reached the mid-point of district play with no threat whatsoever. They went to Lockhart in the weather delayed game and came home with an easy 56-25 win. McCallum was no match in the 73-16 mismatch.

McCallum did not have a JV team and only brought four to play in the freshman game. DS played a four on four game with the fifth rotating in. If one enjoys watching a team go through their layup drill in pre-game practice, then this was the game for you. The Lady Tigers would take the ball away around half court and pass to the breaking player for an uncontested layup. DS would hit 11-12 from two range and 3-6 from three to carve out a 31-5 first quarter lead. Not much better the rest of the way. It was 50-8 after two. The bright spot was the fact Ally Beck was able to get playing time for the first time this year. She was the most experienced player on the team and had missed the season nursing a knee injury. It was a confidence builder for her and a needed piece in the playoff run.

Vs Lockhart: Avery Johnson 12, Kline Stafford 11, Caroline Gamble 11, Corbyn Davis 5, Malari O'Neal 5, Ashleigh Aksamit 4, Lilee McGinnis 3, Teagan Huslig 3, Ella Smith 2.

Vs McCallum: Davis 22, Gamble 13, Stafford 10, O'Neal 6, Huslig 5, Smith 5, Aksamit 4, Beck 3, McGinnis 2, Johnson 2, Ainsley Ballard 1.
