Hill Country Sporting Clay Competition fast approaching
The St. Martin de Porres Knights of Columbus, Council 11695, will hold their 7th annual Hill Country Sporting Clay Competition and Fundraiser (formerly the Hill Country Shootout) on Saturday August 18, 2018, at the Hog Heaven Sporting Club, 24905 Ranch Road 12.
Proceeds of the event will directly support charitable activities in the community. The 24-station event will hold competitions for top men’s, women’s, and junior shooters. Trophies will also be awarded to the top team.
The day’s shooting will be followed with a catered lunch by Railroad Bar-B-Que of Dripping Springs, silent auction close-out, five raffle prizes for Cabela’s gift cards, and a drawing for a $1,000 Visa card. The five raffle Cabela’s gift cards are for the value of five pre-selected guns: a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon 1, Remington 700, Henry Octagon, Remington 1100, and a Springfield Armory 9mm.
New this year is online action, which is currently open, and will end on August 18 at 12:30 p.m. Auction items can be seen, and bid on, at https://www.accelevents.com/events/hillcountryclayshoot#Auction.
Among the beneficiaries of this community event are: wounded veterans and their families at The Center for the Intrepid, area Veterans, the Burke Center for Youth, Special Olympics, scholarships for graduating seniors, and local food pantry, ministries and services.
Shooter slots are still available, and sponsors are currently needed for veterans from The Center for the Intrepid. Sponsorship helps cover costs, so vets can attend at no charge. A team can be sponsored for $700, an individual veteran for $175; and smaller donations can also be accepted to defray costs.
