DSHS Cross Country competes in Austin
Earlier this month, the Dripping Springs High School cross country teams competed at the Austin ISD Cross Country Invitational at Walter E. Long Park, with two of the girls teams taking home the gold in their divisions.
DSHS was able to take care of two things when they entered the AISD Crosscountry Invitational held at the Decker Lake course. First, they got to run on the site of the district meet, which will take place at Long Park later in the season. Second, they were able to get a comparison of the district competition as eight of the nine schools were there.
The DSHS girls teams showed very well, as the primary varsity and junior varsity teams both won their divisions. The varsity girls added a second team to get more individuals in the race, and they finished fifth overall.
The boys show to have the toughest task ahead, achieving seventh and eighth place finishes for varsity and JV, respectively. Even so, four male runners handily surpassed their personal bests.
