Dripping Springs Track send seven to State

The contingency of track participants from Dripping Springs High School represented the school well as they will be sending eight varsity athletes to the State Meet to be held on May 10 at the Myers track on UT campus.

Avery Kalsu lowered her school record in the 400 to 56.55 to take a silver medal and head to state. Joining her will be Marleena Mickel with a time of 11.22.92 in the 3200 for another silver medal. Karsten Bobb's finished third in the 1600 with a 5.16.39. Bobb also finished fifth in the 3200 (11.41.83). Audrey Williamson matched that with a fifth in the 300 hurdles (46.43). Mickel was eighth in the 1600 (5.29.23). Susie Alvarado was tenth in the 100 hurdles (16.5) and the 1600 relay composed of Lilee McGinnis, Kassandra Sawin, Williamson and Kalsu placed tenth with a time of 4.07.82.

Bobby Holt headed up the Tigers individual performances with a second place in the 800 with a time of 1.56.32. The 1600 relay composed of Tyler Herron, Andre Perry, Zyle Nance and Ty Kaatz heads to state with a second place finish (3.20.93). The other point-getter was Aiden Cavender who placed sixth in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 13'0. Others: High jump: 7. Luke Lawyer 6'0; 100: 8. Parker Alford 11.14; 200: 9. Perry 22.95; 300 hurdles: 11. Jack Dombrowski 40.91.
