Decade Tenth Games

1948: A couple of missed extra points was the difference as Blanco edged the Tigers 14-12. This game was for the district championship. Billy Rippy passed 28 yards to Buddy White for the first score and then 17 to Harvey Goslin. The Tigers ended with a 6-4 season.

1968: After the exciting win over Florence, the Tigers played loose and unleashed a strong ground game (293) to crush the Liberty Hill Panthers 36-0 to clinch the first ever 11-man district championship. Scoring: Joe Williamson 29 pass from Dennis Sansom. Ray Whisenant runs of 6 & 4. Paul Freitag 70 punt return. Jimmy Stigler 3 pass from Sansom. Whisenant 2 EPK and one 2pt EP. Freitag 2pt EP. Rushing: Randy Garnett 89, Chester Kalinowska 76, John Murray 59, Whisenant 41. Rec: Stigler 3-24, Williamson 1-29, Freitag 1-9, Murray 1-6.

1978: A powerful Llano Yellowjacket team had their way with the Tigers to the tune of 51-6. A one-yard plunge by James Godwin late in the game was the lone score. Rushing: Vern McCarty 62, Godwin 56, Tommy Gillis 10. Passing: Mark Watson 8-23-83. Rec. McCarty 7-73, Calvin Myers 1-10.

1988: It was the monumental struggle with Lampasas and for the title. All the scoring took place in the first three quarters as the Tigers fell to the Badgers 26-21. Tigers still made playoffs. Scoring: Marc Tinsley 10 run. John Russell 41 & 10 passes from Brett Boydston. Scott Glass 1EP. Safety. Rushing: Michael Myers 71, Todd Reimers

67. Passing: Boydston 9-18-105. Rec: Russell 2-51, Myers 4-40, Victor Crosswell 1-11.

1998: Lampasas took another win over the Tigers with a score of 35-13 to end their season. Scoring: Tony Salazar 81 Run. Matt Hightower 12 pass from Britt Peterson. Russell Cameron 1EP. Rushing: Salazar 104, Chad Sandahl 36. Passing: Peterson 8-28-83. Rec: Hightower 3-41, Jason Wells 3-30.

2008: The Tigers and Lake Travis Cavaliers were both 9-0 and playing for the district championship. Hayden Fowlkes kicked a 31 FG in first quarter and that would be it for DS scoring as LT took it 42-3. Rushing: Anthony Pennell 45, Dawson Chapman 24. Passing: Jacob Moore 7-16-77, Jeff Tuck 6-13-50. Rec: Grant Garrett 3-24, Kaleb Syring 2-21, Connor McMullin 2-26.
