Boys All-District soccer selections
The district 25-5A champion Dripping Springs Tigers soccer team came out well in the all-district selections with the exception of the special awards. Even though the special awards recipients may have been deserving, it is obvious the six Austin school coaches have the votes to sway the result over the two outside schools. This is nothing new in the world of all-district selections for whatever the reasons.
Special Awards: MVP: Jaime Palacios, Travis; Offensive MVP: Luis Lopez, Lanier; Defensive MVP: Griffin Smith, McCallum; Golden Glove: Ray Rodriguez, Lanier; Newcomer of the Year: Josie Montalvan, Lanier; Coach of the Year: Chris Hellums, Lanier.
