Summer always makes fielding teams a challenge and is a good equalizer for the teams.

The Tuesday league is really heating up when it comes to competitive games. This week the league made up a night of games on Monday and then a regularly scheduled Tuesday. A quirk of schedule occurred when the makeup games happened to be the same schedule as the Tuesday, only times changed. Summer always makes fielding teams a challenge and is a good equalizer for the teams. As will be noted, teams were unable to repeat wins over the two nights. There were some tremendous defensive plays made and timely hitting with five games determined in the last at bat and most of the others in doubt until the final out was made.

The Thursday league got back into action after taking the Fourth off. The top spot now has a couple of teams sharing the spot.

Tuesday league standings: Sunset Canyon Baptist 7-1, Fighting Pharmers 8-2, DS Rentals Conglomerates 6-4, Slapnut Magoos 6-4, DS Electric Shockers 5-5, UnWanted 4-6, Baptist Bombers 3-7, Chronic Offenders 2-6, Misfits 1-7.

Monday scores: UnWanted found their strength of former years, hitting, and came away with two wins. They would scratch out a run in the bottom of the eighth to outlast the Shockers 12-11. Then scored early to go onto a 15-11 win over the Fighting Pharmers. The Slapnut Magoos also had a good night with two wins. They matched runs with the Conglomerates and then broke the tie in the bottom of the seventh to take the match 8-7. All bats were on board as the Magoos out-slugged the Shockers 22-13. The Baptist Bombers were unable to finish off any of their games as they kept it close until final innings. The Pharmers scored eight runs in the final inning to down the Bombers 14-7. The Conglomerates got the edge early and won 16-6.

Tuesday scores: The Pharmers were able to get a pair of wins but not without a struggle. The hardluck Bombers, for the second night in a row took the Pharmers to the limit before falling 9-8 when the Pharmers were able to tie the game and then in their final at bat pushed across the final run. The Pharmers overcame an 8-6 deficit in their final at bat with nine runs to win over the UnWanted 15-8. A 6-run first gave the Bombers the boost they needed as the Conglomerates rally fell one run short in the 8-7 loss. It would take two extra innings to break the 11-11 tie before a two-out single by Brian Varnell brought in Greg Harkrider for the exciting win over the Magoos. In another big matchup the Shockers got off to a fast start with seven in the first, only to have the Magoos go ahead with eight in the second. Another 7-run fourth was final impetus to give the Shockers the 18-13 win. UnWanted outlasted the Shockers for a 15-12 victory in another exciting game.
