Adult softball results Aug 8

Both adult men's leagues have a makeup week before the end of season tourneys are played but each league has already named their champions.

Tuesday standings: Sunset Canyon Baptist 11-1, Slapnut Magoos 9-5, Fighting Pharmers 9-5, DS Electric Shockers 9-5, DS Rentals Conglomerates 7-7, UnWanted 6-8, Chronic Offenders 3-9, Misfits 3-9, Baptist Bombers 3-9.

Scores: The Slapnut Magoos moved into a 3-way tie for second with a pair of wins. They opened with an 18-10 win over the Baptist Bombers and then continued their barrage with a 19-1 advantage over the UnWanted. UnWanted turned the tables on the Bombers with a 17-2 victory. The Shockers got off to a fast start and finished with a 12-2 edge over the Misfits. The Fighting Pharmers has been the only team to defeat Sunset Canyon Baptist this year. It looked like history might repeat as Pharmers held a 4-3 lead going into the final inning. Sunset scored six and Pharmers were unable to respond. In the final game, the Conglomerates scored eleven in the second and then struggled as Chronic Offenders kept scoring to make it 11-9 before DSC was able to hold them off 15-11.

Thursday standings: Dripping Royalty 13-3, Sons of Pitches 9-5, T-Baggers 6-8, Zeros 5-9, Lastros 3-11.

Scores: Dripping Royalty, with a remaining bye, had a big finish to their championship season with two one-sided contests. They were unstoppable in their 25-4 margin over Sons of Pitches and then concluded with a 23-6 win over the Zeros. In the other games, Zeros held off a determined T-Baggers 12-10. A 10-run first catapulted the Sons of Pitches to an 18-3 win over the T-Baggers.
