Adult Softball has no undefeated teams at mid-season

As the Tuesday night league meets its mid-season, with a make-up night and regular night, there are no undefeated teams nor winless ones. Each team continues to improve their games as they get to play more and the hits and runs were evident in these two nights of play. Plenty of close games and high scoring. The Thursday night league took the week off.

League standings: Sunset Canyon Baptist 7-1, Fighting Pharmers 5-1, DS Rentals Conglomerates 4-2, DS Electric Shockers 4-2, Slapnut Magoos 4-2, Baptist Bombers 2-4, Chronic Offenders 2-6, UnWanted 1-5, Misfits 1-7.

Monday scores: Sunset Canyon Baptist remained undefeated with two wins. They were able to run-rule their two opponents. They finished strong to take the Baptist Bombers 15-5 and then shut out UnWanted 11-0. The Slapnut Magoos had a more nervous road to their two wins. They faced a four-run deficit going into their final at bat and scored five to win 16-15 over the Chronic Offenders. The Misfits made a run at the Magoos before falling 17-13. Chronic Offenders had three big innings to overrun UnWanted 25-4. The Bombers scored late to break a tie and win 7-4 over the Misfits.

Leading hitters: 5- Jake Henry, Brian Timon; 4- Quinton Poe, Jared Wenkheimer, Alex Bowman, Clint Leschber, Wyatt Leschber, Taylor Furman, Matt Speitel; 3- Billy Foulds, Todd Walker, Austin Farmer, Shane McDonald, Logan Busch, Austin Kufrovich, Brandon Somerville, Logan Lilly, Kurt Timmons, Josh Underwood, Greg Ward, Bobby Credeur.

Tuesday scores: The Magoos held onto their win streak as they eked out a 7-6 win over the UnWanted and then defused the Bombers 23-4. UnWanted had a strong first inning and used that to hold off the Bombers 18-13. The Fighting Pharmers cranked out 27 hits enroute to a 24-5 victory over Sunset Canyon Baptist. A fast start propelled the Conglomerates to a 14-4 win over Chronic Offenders. The Shockers jumped off to a 14-1 start and then outlasted a late rally by the Misfits to triumph 20-11.
